The Future of The Robertsdale Wallaby

Robertsdale wallabies today face an uncertain future. Already handicapped by a very low birth rate (a female can at most produce a single offspring annually), the species now faces as well a very limited gene pool. As a result, many inbred individuals often suffer from poor eyesight and brittle bones, leaving them all the more vulnerable to accident or predation. Death is highest for yearling animals as they are forced out of the woods and into surrounding suburbs, where they fall prey to their main enemies - feral dogs, automobiles, and most of all pollution from surrounding steel industry and oil refineries. Without immediate help, it is likely the Robertsdale wallaby will have gone extinct by 2025.
